Thunder Bowl Lanes’ week-ending Oct. 1 results highlighted a 711 series from Mark Mather, a 654 from Joe Tews and a 644 from Mark Uekman, along with league-leading performances from bowlers across Alpena-area competition.
The results, published Oct. 3, include scores from Saturday drop-in competition, Monday Nite Strikers and several recurring leagues, including Commercial, Independent Ladies, Senior Men, Senior Ladies, Huron Shores, Coffee Breakers, Alpena Ladies and Century.
Top individual scores
Mather posted the week’s highest listed series, rolling 220, 257 and 234 for a 711 total in Commercial. Tews followed with 232, 200 and 222 for 654 in Century, while Uekman recorded 187, 235 and 222 for 644 in Huron Shores.
Other notable series included Ryan Woody’s 606, Bruce Beyer’s 606, Reuben Evans’ 599, Richard Rabeau’s 594, Roger Dorr’s 592, Jeremy Kortman’s 592 and Alex Woods’ 512 in the Huron Shores and Century results. In the Saturday drop-in leagues, JoJo Polanco led Minor Mixed with 214, 164 and 195 for 573.
Kelly Lewis topped Monday Nite Strikers with a 565 series, while Sue Geyer posted 500 in Alpena Ladies and 499 in Independent Ladies. Terry Kelly led Senior Men with 490, Lisa Werth led Senior Ladies with 432, Mary Pahlkotter led Coffee Breakers with 453 and Tews led Century with 654.
League results from Thunder Bowl Lanes
Ken Cole and Josh Munsey won Saturday Drop In League Blind Doubles with 1,399, edging Jim Habermehl and Scott Beland, who finished with 1,398.
In Minor Mixed, True North Logging defeated The Gamblers 4-0 behind Polanco’s 573, while Boomers & the Zoomers defeated Roll Em if ya Got Em 2-0. Barks & Wags also won 4-0, and Misfits won 3-1.
Monday Nite Strikers included a 4-0 victory for Trio Trouble, led by Lewis’ 565, and a 3-1 win for Kipfmiller Produce. In Commercial, Mark’s Lawn Care won 27-3 over Dick’s Auto, with Mather’s 711 leading the way. BJ’s Ball Shop won 19-11 over Who’d We Get, and Moose Lodge defeated Kish Custom Care 22-8.
Independent Ladies featured 3-1 wins for Jimmies Jems and Lasting Expressions, while The Udder Team and Strike Queens also posted victories. In the senior leagues, Team 2 beat Team 5 in Senior Men, and Senior Ladies Team 4 defeated Team 2.

Huron Shores results included a 20-10 win for Muddy Paws over Alpena Golf Club, while Roy’s Barber Shop defeated Beaver Liquors 13-19. Coffee Breakers included a 4-2 victory for Striking Ladies over Hubbard Lake General.
In Alpena Ladies, Dangerous Dames won 4-1, while RAK Automotive & Tire defeated Alpena Agency 3-1. Century results included a 4-1 win for A Cut Above over Coor’s Light, a 3-1 win for IMC and a 3-1 victory for Northern Collision.
