Alpena-area bowlers recorded notable individual games and series at Thunder Bowl Lanes during the week ending Sept. 17, according to results published Sept. 21. Ryan Woody and Mike Luebke tied for the highest listed Commercial series, each rolling 705.

The weekly report covered Minor Mixed, Commercial, Monday Nite Strikers, Independent Ladies, Senior Ladies, Senior Men, Huron Shores, Coffee Breakers, Alpena Ladies and Century leagues, along with team results and individual leaders.

Top scores across the leagues

  • Minor Mixed: Dan Hunter led with a 540 series, followed by JoJo Polanco and Bill Hitzelberger at 512.
  • Commercial: Ryan Woody and Mike Luebke each scored 705. Jim Kelly II followed with 668, while John Nunez posted 606.
  • Monday Nite Strikers: Kelly Lewis led with 539, and Lori Kipfmiller recorded 447. Erin Smith had 329, while Sarah Nunez posted 476.
  • Independent Ladies: Tammy Daleski led with 481, followed by Sue Geyer at 424 and Laurie Hunter at 415.
  • Senior Ladies: Bridget Shepherd topped the league with 451. Diane Reh scored 436, and Diane Johnson had 419.
  • Senior Men: Terry Kelly led with 479. Jon Madson scored 473, Don Parkham 462 and Jim Dziesinski 456.
  • Huron Shores: Kyle Clearwood posted the league’s top series at 660. Dusty Stevens had 616, Tom Gougeon 580 and Mark Uekman 562.
  • Coffee Breakers: Rose Rosenbrock led with 417, followed by Nancy Repke at 398 and Cindy Habermehl at 397.
  • Alpena Ladies: Hailey Brown led with 486. Jennifer Wieczorkowski scored 461, Kathy Hanson 442 and Kim Stenz 431.
  • Century: John Monson led all listed bowlers in the league with 666, followed by Landen Gagnon at 651, Terry Glomski at 617 and Zech Tomes at 614.

Team results include close finishes

The Minor Mixed standings included Roll Em if ya Got Em with four wins, while Barks and Wags also recorded four. In Commercial, A Cut Above Landscaping led with 27, Marks Lawn Care had 24 and Dicks Auto had 19.

Monday Nite Strikers featured Kipfmiller Produce with 3.5 points and Angry Beavers with .5. In Independent Ladies, Strike Queens recorded four points, while Lasting Expressions and The Udder Team each recorded three. Senior Ladies results included Team 4 with four points and Team 2 with three.

In Senior Men, Team 3 and Team 6 each recorded four points. Huron Shores results showed Bowl Tide with 27 and Beaver Liquors with 25. Coffee Breakers listed Striking Ladies with seven points. Alpena Ladies results included THEM with four and Kipfmiller Produce with four. Century results included A Cut Above with four, Joe’s Bar with four and Coor’s Light with three.
