Straley Lamp & Kraenzlein, P.C. has added Chelsea McConnell, CPA, as a shareholder, marking a new leadership development for the full-service public accounting firm serving clients primarily in Northeast Michigan.
The firm announced the change on Sept. 2, 2026. McConnell joined Straley Lamp & Kraenzlein in 2015 after working for large manufacturing and construction companies. Her previous responsibilities included accounting, human resources and assistant-controller work.
McConnell’s accounting and audit background
Since joining the firm, McConnell has become a leader in its audit practice. Her work focuses on audits for governmental, nonprofit and for-profit entities, giving her experience across public, community and business organizations.
McConnell earned a Master of Accountancy degree and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Fraud Investigation from Davenport University. She also earned her Certified Public Accountant license in 2019.
Professional and community roles
In addition to her work at Straley Lamp & Kraenzlein, McConnell is an active member of the Michigan Association of CPAs and the Government Finance Officers Association. She serves as treasurer for Wolverine State Credit Union and the United Way of Northeast Michigan.
